Free Netflix For All Airtel, Vodafone, Jio Users?

No sooner did Reliance Jio announce their new postpaid plans to offer free Netflix and OTT channel services, Airtel and Vodafone Idea might also decide to up their game and offer their customers similar benefits.

While all these telecom providers – Jio, Bharti, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) wage a battle, its the customers who will be ending up with the larger end of the stick.

Reliance Jio’s Plans Cheaper And More Beneficial Than Airtel, Vi
Reliance Jio recently announced four new postpaid plans in addition to their only one plan previously. The plans offer much more data, voice call benefits, and access to online content streaming platforms, and all these benefits are more than what all two of its competitors offer. The comparable offerings come at a 20% discount to those offered by Airtel.

And to ensure that their higher Arpu (average realization per user) customers is held on to, the officials will probably add value to their content and data benefits.

As we all know, Reliance Jio only had one postpaid plan, which was priced at Rs. 199 per month. To this, the company added multiple more, which were priced from Rs. 399 to Rs. 1499. All the new plans come with numerous benefits – access to Netflix (mobile-only, single-device plan), Amazon Prime, Disney-Hotstar, and Jio TV/ Saavn/ Cinema. Also, along with unlimited voice calling benefits, the data benefits are between 75 GB and 300 GB per month.

Price Difference of Rs. 300 Between Jio And Airtel’s Plans
Jio’s entry plan comes at Rs. 100 lesser than Airtel’s; however, if you add the free monthly subscription to Netflix, the difference between the plans goes up to Rs. 300.

Whereas, Vi’s plan comes at Rs. 399 but the data benefits offered as less, only Rs. 40 as compared to Jio’s 75 GB.

The benefits of a subscription to Netflix and Amazon Prime are extended until the duration of the recharge plans. However, if compared to the plans of Airtel and Vi, the data offering is less and the company doesn’t offer Netflix or Disney-Hotstar subscription as well. Amazon Prime subscription is offered only for a year.

The price of Amazon Prime and Disney Hotstar VIP comes at Rs 999 and Rs 399 per annum.
